High Power RF Pin Diode Switches
Corry Micronics' new RF pin diode switches operate in the 100 MHz to 12 GHz range. The CMSW-SPDTR-1G-5K is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) hermetically sealed reflective switch, while the CMTRSW-1G1R1G-2K5 is a high power transmit/receive (T/R) switch designed to be used in IFF applications.
Both switches offer high isolation of 40 dB minimum, and are tested at their respective power limits of 2.5 kW and 5 kW. These high-power devices operate at an average power of up to 100 W, and can handle peak input power levels of 2.5 kW or 5 kW with a maximum pulse width of 17 uS, and duty cycle of 2 percent.
Additional features include:
- Switching speeds up to 250 ns (typical) at a 2 kHz switching rate
- Insertion loss of 0.8 dB (typical)
- 1.5:1 VSWR or better
- PRF at 600 Hz
